Who Can Apply

Who Can Apply?

The main applicant must be 18 years of age or older. If the main applicant wishes to obtain Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship for his or her spouse and dependent children, these applications must also accompany the main applicant’s application

Processing Time

The expected time frame for the processing of applications is three (3) months. Within three months, the Citizenship by Investment Unit will notify the Licensed Agent whether the applicants’ application has been approved, denied or delayed for cause and is still being processed.

Processing fees payable to the Government of Antigua & Barbuda in respect of applications submitted under the National Development Fund, Real Estate Investment or Business Investment option.

Government Processing Fees

under The University of the West Indies (UWI) Fund

Processing fees payable to the Government of Antigua & Barbuda in respect of applications submitted under the University of the West Indies (UWI) Fund Family of up to six (6) members.

Notation: For Family over (6), each additional member is $15,000.00 

Government Due Diligence Fees

Due Diligence will be performed on each applicant who is 12 years and older. At the time of submission of the application to the Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU), 10% of the Government’s Processing Fees are payable along with the full due diligence fees.  These initial fees are non-refundable.

The Citizenship by Investment Unit will notify the Licensed Agent of the status of the application once processing is complete. Successful applicants will be required within 15 days of notification of approval to pay the balance of the processing fees and take the necessary steps to complete their investment. Successful applicants will also be required to take an oath of allegiance and will receive information as to the steps to be pursued for the issuance of their Antigua and Barbuda passport. The passport will afford the holder visa-free travel to 131 countries that include Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, U.K. and the European Union including Schengen states. 

Successful applicants will be required to spend at least 35 days in Antigua and Barbuda during the five year period after registered as a citizen. The passport issued to a successful applicant will be valid for a period of 5 years and will be considered for renewal subject to the recipient having spent the required time in Antigua and Barbuda over the five year period.
